CNAHA election 2018
Dear CNAHA members,
With Chinese New Year upon us, so is CNAHA 2018 election.
On behalf of the CNAHA 2018 election committee, we would like to make a few announcements.
1. CNAHA 2018 election committee: Drs. Dali Fan, Hongsheng Guo, and Yuxin Fan.
2. The CNAHA board/election committee is soliciting nominations for 10 positions, either self-nominated or nominated by other active members. Board member positions are held for two-year terms.
The 10 positions to be filled during the Election:
President
Co-President
Vice Presidents x 5
Treasurer
Membership Director
General Secretary
3. Eligibility:
To be eligible for the president or co-president, a candidate must be currently a life time member and has served as a Board member for at least one full term.
To be eligible for the board member or vice president, a candidate must be at least currently a regular CNAHA member for two years or a life member for 6 months.
The candidate for president should be automatically a candidate for vice president unless indicated otherwise by the candidate.
All board members should be US citizen or US permanent resident.
There should be no conflict of interest. Any potential for conflict of interest should be disclosed to the board. For example, the current board members or president should not serve important position in other similar organization unless it is approved by the current board or election committee.
Final candidates shall be approved for eligibility by the Election Committee. However, all the candidates have to approve their names on the ballot.
No more than two positions may be considered or held by the same person.
4. Voting rights:
Each regular member and life-time member, who are currently living in the North America or who is residing in China but hold a valid Green card or American citizenship, shall be entitled to one vote on each matter submitted for voting by members.
Associate members, outstanding achievement members and honorary members do not have voting right.
Each voting member should be active at least 6 month prior to the voting event or otherwise specified by the election committee and the board.
5. Election process:
Nomination 2/8-2/25 (nomination form: see attached)
Deadline for submitting CVs 2/25, midnight, PST;
Announcement of Ballots 2/28;
Deadline for candidates running for presidents to submit their statement 2/25, midnight, PST;
Voting for the Primary election 2/28-3/7, midnight, PST;
The election result will be announced by the chair of the Election Committee at China Night, which will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 during ACC annual conference;
Office shall begin their duty at the ACC conference after the election and shall end at the same time of the same election cycle with 2 years term.
