Congratulate to Cynthia Taub, MD, MBA, Professor of Medicine of Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, who has been appointed as the Chief of the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine
The Heart and Vascular Center and the Department of Medicine announce that Cynthia Taub, MD, MBA, Professor of Medicine, has been appointed as the Chief of the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine, and has assumed her role on 8 February 2021. Dr. Taub received her medical degree from Beijing Medical University, her Masters in Biological Science from Dartmouth College, and her Masters in Business Administration from Yale School of Management. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, her fellowship in Cardiology at Hartford Hospital, and an advanced fellowship in Echocardiography at Massachusetts General Hospital. Most recently, Dr. Taub was the Section Head of Cardiac Imaging and the Director of Non-invasive Cardiology at Montefiore Medical Center, NY, and held a faculty appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Taub has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Echocardiography and co-chairs its Finance Committee. She is a prolific clinical investigator with over 90 peer-reviewed publications. Her research explores novel applications of echocardiographic imaging to advance diagnostic evaluation and strategize treatment for cardiovascular diseases. She has mentored over 100 trainees, many of whom are now NIH-funded investigators and leaders in academic institutions throughout the US. Her leadership style embraces building a collaborative environment and adapting during exceptionally difficult circumstances, such as that caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, as she recently exemplified at Montefiore.
