The 28th Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology (GWICC) will be held in Beijing from October 12-15, 2017. The Chinese American Heart Association (CNAHA) will send her 17th delegation to this meeting. Our delegation is formed by 15 Chinese-American Cardiologists and Scientists. They are all lifetime members of CNAHA. Although 97% of them are the 1st-tier candidates, due to reduced funding support, the majority (60%) are self- or alternatively funded lecturers including Leng Jiang, MD, Jianming Li, MD, PhD and Dali Fan, MD, PhD three highly respected former CNAHA Presidents. This year we will be hosting/lecturing in seven CNAHA-GW-ICC joint programs. They are: 1) the Young Investigator Award Finalist Competition; 2) EP-Symposium (I) Cardiovascular Genetics and Sudden Cardiac Death; 3) EP-Symposium (II) Cardiac Arrhythmias – Challenges and Innovations in Therapies; 4) Joint Clinical Case Conference; 5) The 5th Prof. Tsung O Cheng Memorial Lecture; 6) Meet Experts: How to Achieve Research Publications in SCI Journals; and 7), Session for Structural Heart Disease (with TAVR related topics).
The clinical case conference, as part of the online Cardiology Grand Rounds, is a name brand program created and carried out by Dr. Dali Fan, Jay Sun and a group of CNAHA members who are practicing cardiologists in the US collaborated with over 12 hospitals (all university-affiliated teaching hospitals) in China since 2016.
This is the very first-time CNAHA will bring this program live at the upcoming GWICC. Moreover, we will present three freelance lecturers in other GWICC sessions.
With our contributions and collaborations, we are optimistic that the 28th GWICC meeting will be very successful.
Best regards,
Yuxin Fan, MD, PhD. President of CNAHA and Chair of the GWICC Delegation
Li Zhang, MD. Subcommittee Chair of CNAHA@GWICC
