Dr. Feng Xie graduated from the Jiamusi Medical School in 1975. His cardiology training took place at
the Chinese PLA Postgraduate Medical School during 1982-1985. He went to the University of
Rochester Medical Center for an advanced postdoctoral training from 1986 – 1987. He became an
associate professor and vice director in the Department of Diagnostic Ultrasound at the Chinese PLA
General Hospital in 1990. In 1992, he spent one year at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center as
a visiting professor. He worked at the University of Nebraska Medical Center as a research associate and
instructor from 1993-1995. In 1996, he was appointed as a Chief of Department of Ultrasound at Chinese
Cardiovascular Institute and Fuwai Heart Hospital, Peking Union Medical College and Chinese Medical
Academy. In 1999, he returned to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is currently a professor of
medicine in Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.
He is a member of the American Heart Association and American Society of Echocardiography. He was Vice
President and Cardiovascular Imaging Chair of CNAHA. He served for American Journal of Cardiology,
Journal of American Society of Echocardiography and American Heart Journal as a reviewer. During his
early year in China, Dr. Xie was very active in leadership roles in numerous academic societies for many
years. He had been nominated and elected to several prominent leadership positions on Committees,
Boards and Medical Societies. He was the Vice Chairman of the Beijing Society of Ultrasound in
Medicine, Council of Chinese Association of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering; Board for Foreign
The affair of the Chinese Association of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering; Board of Chinese Medical
Association; and Board of Beijing Society for Echocardiography. Dr. Xie has been recognized both
nationally and internationally for his achievements in the field of echocardiography. He received a
number of nationally and internationally recognized prizes and awards, including Research Award
Winner at Fifth Annual Scientific Session of American (1994), and The Heritage Prize for Excellence in
Creative Activity, Li Foundation, New York, NY (1995). Dr. Xie’s research interests are cardiac imaging
and therapeutic ultrasound with microbubbles in coronary heart diseases. He is working several projects
as the principal investigator and co-investigator funded by NIH. He has published more than 300+
articles in Circulation, Journal of American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal etc. Dr. Xie’s
most influential contributions in echocardiography were two original articles published in Circulation and
JACC. The gas theory and experimental evidence proposed in the article directly lead to the advent of
new ultrasound contrast agents. The TRI phenomenon observed in the paper also laid the foundation for
the development of low mechanical index instruments and its patents were also adopted by
manufacturers. These two papers are considered as classics of contrast echo and have been widely cited.
谢峰, 教授,主任医师,博士生导师。1985年毕业于解放军军医学院(解放军总医院
)研究生院,获硕士学位。1986 -1987年在罗切斯特大学心内科进行博士后研究。1990年成
为解放军总医院超声诊断科副主任、副教授。1992-1993年为美国宾夕法尼亚大学访问教授
。1993-1995任职于美国内布拉斯加大学。1996年回国被任命为北京协和医科大学、中国医
学科学院阜外心血管病医院超声科主任、教授,博士生导师。1999年谢峰教授再次回到内布
拉斯加大学医学中心心血管医学科,历任助教授、副教授、教授。
谢峰是美国心脏学会会员、美国超声心动图学会会员、美国华裔心脏协会副主席、医
学影像部主任。谢峰早年在中国期间,担任众多社会职务,包括中华医学会北京超声学会副
主任委员、中国心血管技术培训中心副主任委员、中国医学科学院高级职称评委等。若干国
内和美国专业杂志的编委审稿人。谢峰在其职业生涯中获得一系列奖项,包括1994年ASE
Research Award第一名、1995年度美国李氏基金奖、并多次获得中国超声医学杂志一等奖。
谢峰的研究兴趣是心脏影像学和超声与微泡的诊断和治疗学领域。他目前作为PI或共同研究
者,正在进行几个NIH项目的研究。他已在同行评审的杂志上发表了300余篇学术论文,这些
杂志包括:Circulation, Journal of American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal
等。谢峰的原始性工作得到了广泛的引用,其h-index约为38。谢峰教授在国际心血管领域最
有影响力的贡献是1995年与Porter教授共同发表在Circulation和JACC的两篇原始论著。文章
提出的气体理论和实验证据直接导致了新型声学造影剂的问世。文中观察到的TRI现象也为日
后低机械指数仪器的发展奠定了基础,其专利也被厂家采用。这两篇论文堪称心脏声学造影
